Samoa is one of the most popular resorts in the Pacific Ocean. The island attracts tourists not just with its exotic nature and nice climate but also it offers guests the opportunity to dive into the gambling world.

Casino business in Samoa began its development from 2010 after the devastating tsunami which destroyed everything in its path. Then, the already poor Samoa citizens suffered irreparable losses. And in order to somehow revive the economy of Samoa local authorities have decided to build the largest casino which would make Samoa not just an ordinary all-inclusive resort but a place which any player would dream about.

The state has received a license for the casino since 2010.

But an unusual decision from authorities side was the enacted legislation allowed gambling for foreigners only. The locals in Samoa are denied rights of visiting a new casino building.
At that time, Samoa politicians expected to increase the tourist traffic and get a large influx of casino visitors. But to their disappointment, they didn’t receive the expected hype.

Whitesands Samoa-Mulifanua casino opened in 2014, and by 2017 it didn’t help Samoa to reach the way out of the crisis. Due to this, the local authorities seriously started thinking about the adoption of a new law that would give access to gambling for local residents too.

And while the law is now at the discussion stage, some of the located in Samoa companies are already confident in its effectiveness and are planning further development of the local gambling industry.
